TVI management apologized after broadcasting a coverage about the largest number of covid-19 cases on the North of the country, where the region was said to be most affected by having a “less educated” population, “poorer and older” and “being very concentrated in nursing homes”. These reasons appeared as a footnote of the news report, which generated a prompted the protest of Rui Moreira, mayor of Porto, and many citizens of the North and other regions.
