Producer Lynette Howell Taylor has been re-elected president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences by the board of governors, the organization announced today.
Taylor, known for productions including “A Star Is Born” and “The Accountant,” succeeded Janet Yang as president of Hollywood’s Academy, which organizes the Oscars, last year.
Alongside Taylor, also re-elected as vice presidents were Lesley Barber, representing the music branch, Jennifer Fox, representing producers, Lou Diamond Phillips, representing actors, and Howard A. Rodman, representing screenwriters.
David Dinerstein, former head of Paramount Pictures, was elected this year as vice president for the Academy’s marketing and public relations division. Throughout his career, Dinerstein has been involved in the production and marketing of films including “Pulp Fiction” and “The Full Monty.”

Taylor, beginning her second term, has been a member of Hollywood’s Academy since 2014, having held various positions within the organization, including a seat on the board of governors.
She is the fifth woman to lead the Academy. Previous female presidents include actress Bette Davis, the first woman elected to the role, who served only a brief period in 1941; producer and screenwriter Fay Kanin (1979-1983); attorney Cheryl Boone Isaacs (2013-2017); and producer Janet Yang (2022-2025).
According to the Academy’s bylaws, a sitting president may seek re-election for up to four consecutive one-year terms, the organization’s statement noted.
Nominations for the next Oscars ceremony, the 99th edition, will be announced on January 21, 2026, with winners set to be revealed on March 14 of next year.
