Netflix has renewed its licensing agreement for “The Walking Dead,” agreeing to pay AMC Global Media $500 million over five years for continued rights to the original zombie franchise and its full lineup of spinoffs.
The arrangement is co-exclusive, meaning the series will also become available on AMC+ starting next year alongside its continued presence on Netflix, according to Deadline.
All 371 episodes across the original series and its six spinoffs will stream on Netflix in the UK, Italy, Australia, New Zealand and other new markets, in addition to the U.S., where the show has been available in various forms, including DVD and online streaming, since 2011.

The renewal was announced Thursday morning alongside AMC Global Media’s second-quarter earnings report. The deal covers the flagship series along with Fear the Walking Dead, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, The Walking Dead: Dead City, The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, The Walking Dead: World Beyond and Tales of The Walking Dead.
The original series premiered on Halloween in 2010 and ran for 11 seasons, becoming a defining economic driver for AMC Global Media. The company, originally known as Rainbow Media as a division of Cablevision, spun off and went public just months before the show’s debut.
