British driver George Russell (Mercedes) won the Austrian Formula 1 Grand Prix today, the eighth round of the season, securing the seventh victory of his career.
Russell, who started from pole position, beat Dutchman Max Verstappen (Red Bull) by 1.611 seconds and Italian Kimi Antonelli (Mercedes) by 1.986 seconds, who finished second and third, respectively.

With these results, Antonelli maintains his lead in the World Championship with 171 points, 40 points ahead of Russell, who now moves into second place.
