The Interim President of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, has declared a national state of emergency after two powerful earthquakes measuring 7.5 and 7.2 magnitude struck the central region of the country, causing extensive material damage that is still being evaluated by authorities.
In an official address on Wednesday, Delcy Rodríguez also announced the temporary closure of the Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía, which serves the capital city of Caracas. Additionally, all school classes nationwide have been canceled until further notice due to structural damage reported across multiple states.

Despite the intensity of the quakes and the fact that Venezuela has already registered at least 20 aftershocks, there are currently no official reports of casualties or injuries. Emergency response teams remain on high alert as inspection and recovery efforts continue.
