Electricity Guards Childhood, Light Warms the Campus

DINGXI, China, June 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — State Grid Dingxi Power Supply Company

"We are the successors of communism…" The resonant Young Pioneers' anthem echoed across the playground of Yuanguidui Primary School, adding unique solemnity and joy to the International Children's Day on June 1st.

On June 1, staff from State Grid Dingxi Power Supply Company visited Yuanguidui Primary School in Weiyuan County. Leveraging the State Grid Electricity Love Classroom, they delivered a special public welfare lesson titled The Journey of One Kilowatt‑Hour—a unique "gift" of power knowledge for the children's festival.

In the morning, the company's staff joined teachers and students for the Young Pioneers admission ceremony for first‑graders. Six new members wore bright red scarves and took a solemn oath under the Young Pioneers flag. Bright smiles on children's faces and warm figures of power employees formed the most touching scene of the day.

"Dear children, do you know how one kilowatt‑hour travels from power plants to our homes?" In the electricity science popularization class, The Journey of One Kilowatt‑Hour quickly caught the children's attention. Led by lecturer Wei Tao, the class combined lively animations and interactive Q&A to guide children on a wonderful exploration of electricity.

The lesson covered generation, transmission, basic rules of safe electricity use and energy conservation, as well as scientific lighting and eye protection tied to National Eye Care Day. The classroom was lively; children listened attentively and raised hands actively. Concepts of safe electricity use and scientific eye care were gently planted in young hearts.

Outside the classroom, staff acted as "electricity doctors" and carried out a full comprehensive inspection of campus electrical facilities. They checked lighting circuits, canteen equipment, dormitory distribution boxes, backup power supplies, insulation conditions, and earth leakage protection devices. Key risks such as loose connections, aging insulation, and unauthorized wiring were rectified on site. Practical improvement suggestions were provided to the school to build a strong campus electrical safety firewall.

This special Journey of One Kilowatt‑Hour lesson was more than a festival gift—it sowed seeds of safety and science. Going forward, State Grid Dingxi Power Supply Company will keep using platforms like the Electricity Love Classroom to run regular "Electricity Safety on Campus" activities. With professionalism and care, the company will light up children's dreams of growth and inject warm, solid power momentum into rural revitalization.
