Arsenal moved a massive step closer to clinching their first English Premier League title since 2004 after grinding out a narrow 1-0 victory against already-relegated Burnley on Matchday 37.
The hard-fought win against the league’s second-to-last team marks the eighth time this season that Mikel Arteta’s side has secured a 1-0 result. The long-awaited championship—which has eluded the club for 22 years—could be officially crowned as early as Wednesday night if Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City fails to win their away match against Bournemouth.

If Manchester City drops points against Bournemouth, Arsenal will be crowned champions mid-week. If City wins, the title race will push to the final day of the season on Sunday, where Arsenal visits Crystal Palace and Manchester City hosts Aston Villa.
Securing this trophy would mark Arsenal’s 14th English league title, a historic milestone surpassed only by Liverpool and Manchester United, who hold 20 titles each. It would also provide a massive morale boost just days before Arsenal heads to Budapest on May 30 to face Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League final.
