As part of the Sands Cares x SEN Holistic Development Support Programme, Sands China and the Bosco Youth Service Network host a Workplace Inclusion Navigation Day April 21 at The Parisian Macao for a group of youth with special educational needs (SEN). Through on-site visits and training, the event built a bridge with Macao’s young SEN workforce, working hand in hand with the community to help enhance their job-seeking skills and build an inclusive society.

Sands China has introduced the “Sands Cares x SEN Holistic Development Support Programme”, a new community project funded by the company for the Bosco Youth Service Network.

The programme is designed to provide holistic development support for local youth with special educational needs (SEN) and to help prepare them for future employment.

As part of the initiative, Sands China and Bosco Youth Service Network jointly hosted Workplace Inclusion Navigation Day on April 21 at The Parisian Macao.

Through site visits and workshops, the event gave SEN youth an opportunity to learn about workplace settings, build job-seeking skills and better understand how an integrated resort operates.

The programme is built around three core pillars: pre-employment training, workplace support and sports training.

Through workplace skills workshops, internships, career counselling and regular sports sessions, participants are supported in improving both workplace adaptability and physical and mental well-being.

Dr. Wilfred Wong, Executive Vice Chairman of Sands China Ltd., said: “As a member of the Macao community, Sands China upholds the core concept of Sands Cares and leverages our resources to assist local youth with special educational needs in their continued growth, working together to build an inclusive community. For the Sands Cares x SEN Holistic Development Support Programme’s Workplace Inclusion Navigation Day, we welcomed some of these youth to observe our back-office areas, where they learned about the daily operations of a large integrated resort firsthand. Combined with a mock interview workshop, the experience aimed to help improve their workplace adaptability and prepare them for their future careers.”

Estevao Cheong Chi Kin, Managing Board Director of Bosco Youth Service Network, said: “Sands China’s collaboration with the Bosco Youth Service Network since 2018 has not only provided strong resource support but also demonstrated sincere care for the welfare of young people with special educational needs through concrete, comprehensive actions. From Tutorial Group Services and the Bosco Green Store Internship Program to the Sands Cares x SEN Holistic Development Support Programme, Sands China has built a comprehensive growth support system for young people with special educational needs. To date, it has helped 18 SEN participants successfully enter the workforce, with six of them currently working at Sands China, showing how the programme genuinely enhances workplace adaptability and mental and physical well-being.”

During the event, participants visited team member areas at The Parisian Macao, including the wardrobe operation, team member restaurant and floral room.

Current employees with special educational needs also shared their work experiences, reinforcing a workplace culture of diversity and inclusion.

A mock interview workshop followed, where participants learned interview etiquette and response techniques. The programme concluded with a visit to The Parisian Macao’s Eiffel Tower for a view of the Cotai Strip.

The new programme builds on Sands China’s ongoing work with the Bosco Youth Service Network, including Tutorial Group Services and the Bosco Green Store Internship Program, both supported since 2018.

Sands China is committed to promoting inclusive employment through job opportunities, professional training and flexible support for employees with disabilities.
