Real Madrid suffered a stunning 2-1 defeat at Mallorca in the 30th round of La Liga, a result that could widen the gap to leaders FC Barcelona.
The match saw Mallorca take the lead through Manu Morlanes (41’), before Eder Militão (88’), former FC Porto defender, equalized for Real Madrid. However, Vedat Muriqi (90+1’) struck the winning goal for the home side. Portuguese midfielder Samu Costa started for Mallorca.
This unexpected loss, Mallorca’s fourth of the season, leaves Real Madrid four points behind Barcelona, who still play against Atlético Madrid today. Mallorca rises to 15th place, escaping the relegation zone.
