U.S. Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff said there are “strong indications” that Iran may be willing to reach an agreement with the United States to end the ongoing conflict.
“We have strong indications that this is possible,” Witkoff said during a cabinet meeting at the White House.
The envoy confirmed that the administration of President Donald Trump has presented Tehran with a structured 15-point proposal aimed at achieving a potential ceasefire.
According to Witkoff, the plan was conveyed through the government of Pakistan, which is acting as a mediator in the indirect talks between Washington and Tehran.

He noted that Trump instructed him to keep negotiations confidential, highlighting the sensitivity of the ongoing diplomatic process, while acknowledging that a potential agreement could have broader positive impacts.
“If a deal is reached, it will be great for Iran, for the entire region, and for the world at large,” Witkoff said.
The remarks come amid indirect contacts between the parties, as the conflict in the Middle East enters its fourth week, marked by heightened instability and repeated episodes of military escalation.
