Macau passport rises to 29th place in international ranking

Macau's passport now occupies 29th place in the Henley Passport Index — its best ranking ever and the fourth consecutive rise since 2023. Between 2018 and 2022, Macau held 33rd position, except in 2021 when it fell to 35th

Hong Kong recovered to 13th place, up from 18th in 2025, returning to a level not seen since 2006. China advanced to 55th, up from 94th in 2015.

Singapore leads the global ranking, followed by Japan, South Korea and the United Arab Emirates tied in second place, with Sweden in third.
