Brazilian president Lula da Silva said today he has revoked the visa of a US presidential adviser who intended to visit Jair Bolsonaro in prison.
According to Lula da Silva, State Department senior adviser on US policy towards Brazil Darren Beattie will only be allowed to enter the country when Brazil’s health minister Alexandre Padilha — whose visa was revoked last year by the US government — is permitted to enter the United States.
“That American guy who said he was coming here to visit Jair Bolsonaro — he was banned from visiting and I banned him from coming to Brazil, until they release the visa of the health minister, who is blocked,” Lula da Silva said at an event in Rio de Janeiro.
