The five largest banks operating in Portugal posted combined profits of €5.227 billion last year, representing growth of nearly €300 million compared to 2024 — a year that had already been a record. Per day, they earned €14 million, and all increased their annual net results except BPI.
Novo Banco presented its 2025 accounts on Friday, and with that presentation it is now possible to conclude that the results of the five largest banks broke a record again, following the same outcome in each of the last two years.
