The National Entity for the Energy Sector has assured that the country is safeguarded in the event of a “disruption scenario”, and that imports will not be affected by a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.
Portugal has reserves for 93 days of consumption in a disruption scenario, indicated ENSE — the National Entity for the Energy Sector — noting that national imports have no exposure to Hormuz in terms of the quantities of goods purchased and transported.
“It is important to clarify that Portugal does indeed have reserves (around 93 days of consumption) to deal with a disruption scenario in the country’s normal functioning,” ENSE said in a response to Lusa.
However, it stressed that Portuguese imports have no exposure to the Strait of Hormuz “in the quantities of goods purchased and transported to national territory.”
