Cape Verde sees year growth in service sector

The employment index increased by 1.8%, while the gross wages index also rose by 4.5% year-on-year

The turnover in Cape Verde’s service sector grew by 4.5% year-on-year in the fourth quarter of 2025, announced today by the National Statistics Institute (INE) of the country.

Commerce, car repair, transport, storage, accommodation, and catering were the activity areas that contributed most to the increase, in line with the growth of the tourism sector, the main driver of Cape Verde’s economy.

The data are part of the Service Sector Activity Indicators (IASS), compiled from direct data collection and measuring variations relative to the 2014 base year.
