Macau’s Secretary for Security, Chan Tsz King, led a delegation on the third day of the Chinese New Year to inspect frontline units and assess security conditions and cross-border flows.
The delegation, which included the commander-general of Unitary Police Services, Leong Man Cheong, and the director-general of Customs, Adriano Marques Ho, visited the Border Gate checkpoint and the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge checkpoint, as well as units of the Judiciary Police and the Fire Services Bureau.
During the visits, Chan received briefings on passenger and vehicle control measures, customs inspections, criminal investigations and emergency response arrangements. He instructed departments to strengthen contingency planning to ensure smooth border crossings and maintain public order, while also stepping up crime prevention and fire safety inspections in light of festive traditions.
The delegation also inspected the Taipa Old Village area to review crowd flows in pedestrian zones and related traffic control measures.
At the end of the visit, Chan Tsz King conveyed New Year greetings to officers on duty, commending their dedication and professionalism in safeguarding residents and visitors during the holiday period.
