Chinese woman falls to her death from bridge at Jeju Airport

A Chinese citizen fell from a bridge outside Jeju International Airport in South Korea last Saturday (February 14) and was later pronounced dead after medical efforts failed.

Macao Daily

The Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Fire and Safety Headquarters reported that they received a call at approximately 2:44 PM, indicating that a woman in her thirties had fallen from the bridge in front of the airport’s third-floor departure hall.

Surveillance footage showed that the woman fell after crossing the road; witnesses estimated the fall height to be about 7 to 8 meters. Due to significant bleeding after the fall, the scene was temporarily cordoned off. Although emergency responders arrived quickly and provided CPR and other medical assistance before rushing her to the hospital, the woman ultimately succumbed to her injuries.

Police later confirmed that the deceased held a Chinese passport and had not completed her exit procedures at the time of the incident. An investigation is currently underway to clarify the details surrounding the incident.
