The report from the Games Supervision Institute for the fourth quarter of 2025 indicated that this was the best-performing period of the year, accounting for over a quarter of the total revenue and consolidating an annual growth trend.
In just the fourth quarter of 2025, total revenue for the sector reached 7.9 billion kwanzas (7.3 million euros), which is 28% of the annual revenue of 28.3 billion kwanzas (approximately 26.2 million euros). Of this, 28.19 billion kwanzas were from tax revenues, while the remaining 111 million kwanzas came from parafiscal revenues.
Analysis by segments showed a significant change in revenue composition, with a strong growth in territorial-based social games (in-person betting), which increased by 393.8% compared to the same period last year, generating 6.3 billion kwanzas (5.9 million euros) in the fourth quarter.
Conversely, online remote games saw a sharp decline of 91.3%, with revenues falling to 290 million kwanzas (269,000 euros), reflecting a significant reduction in activity in this segment throughout the year.
Games of chance also performed well, with a 102.2% increase compared to the fourth quarter of 2024, reaching 1.19 billion kwanzas (1.1 million euros), driven mainly by higher revenue from associated prizes.
As of the fourth quarter of 2025, the sector had 24 licensed operating entities, divided between games of chance and online remote games, and a total of 257 shops or payment points, mostly associated with territorial-based social betting.
