Stable hotel room rates during Christmas, occupancy set to exceed 85 per cent: Industry rep

Hong Kong and Southeast Asia to be key market sources, with Mainland travel growth limited by absence of public holidays

Hotel room rates in Macau are expected to remain stable over the Christmas period, with average occupancy forecast to exceed 85 per cent as holiday demand picks up, an industry representative said.

Cheung Kin Chung, chairman of the Association of Macau Tourist Agents, said a main source of visitation during this period will be Hong Kong and Southeast Asia, according to the local Chinese newspaper Macao Daily.
