Sands China is donating MOP 700,000 to Macau Tung Sin Tong Charitable Society in support of the nongovernmental organisation’s annual December-February fundraising campaign.
Sands China Ltd. has made its annual donation to Macau Tung Sin Tong Charitable Society, presenting MOP 700,000 during a ceremony held Nov. 20 at The Venetian Macao.
The contribution supports Tung Sin Tong’s December–February fundraising campaign and marks the 22nd consecutive year that Sands China has backed the organisation’s charitable services.
The collaboration reinforces Tung Sin Tong’s long-running role in Macao’s social welfare network. With 133 years of service, the organisation provides free medical care, medication, and education to residents in need.
Sands China’s continued participation in its fundraising campaign highlights the company’s commitment to long-term community-focused initiatives under its Sands Cares programme.
In addition to the annual donation, Sands China supported Tung Sin Tong throughout 2024–2025 by further integrating it into the company’s public-facing community events.
The organisation’s pharmacy was invited to join the 2025 Sands Shopping Carnival, helping promote Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) to thousands of visitors.
The initiative also aligned with Macau’s ongoing development of its TCM and health sectors by boosting public awareness of related products and services.
Earlier in the year, Sands China purchased 3,000 packs of TCM soup from Tung Sin Tong Pharmacy to include in food kits distributed through the Sands Cares programme in July and August.
The initiative provided direct assistance to families in need while simultaneously supporting TCM as a health-preservation practice in the community.
Dr. Wilfred Wong, Executive Vice Chairman of Sands China Ltd., noted the company’s longstanding commitment, stating: “Since 2004, Sands China has donated each year to Tung Sin Tong’s fundraising campaign, in support of its charity initiatives. Tung Sin Tong is one of the oldest charity organisations in Macao, with 133 years of service to the community, offering free medical services, medicine, and education to people in need. We sincerely thank Tung Sin Tong for its contributions to the community; Sands China will continue to work closely with local NGOs to actively carry out the corporate spirit of Sands Cares in giving back to the Macao community and building a harmonious and inclusive community together.”
Representatives at the cheque presentation ceremony included Dr. Wong, Catherine Kong, Vice President of Corporate Communications and Community Affairs, and Annie Lam, Director of Community Affairs. On behalf of Tung Sin Tong, José Chui Sai Peng, Ho King Lun, Charles M. Choy, and Lee Koi Ian received the donation.
Sands China’s support of Tung Sin Tong is part of the Sands Cares global corporate citizenship programme.
