In the 23rd edition of the World Cup, which will take place from June 11 to July 19, 2026, in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, Cape Verde could become the smallest country to compete in the finals, surpassing Trinidad and Tobago, and the second least populous, just behind Iceland.
