Mark Chavez, who lives in San Diego, made the statement during a hearing that took place in Los Angeles this Wednesday. He could face up to a decade in prison. Chavez renounced his medical license and remains free on bail pending sentencing.
The other doctor accused in the case, Salvador Plasencia, says he is innocent, as does Jasveen Sangha, who authorities believe is the supplier of the drug, a powerful, short-acting anesthetic. Sangha is known as the “queen of ketamine”.
This pair is expected to go to trial in March. Perry’s personal assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa, who admitted to injecting the actor with the drug, as well as the middleman who said he obtained ketamine from Sangha, had previously pleaded guilty to the charges.
