Macau returns to Festas de Lisboa to promote Chinese culture

Macau has for the first time participated in Festas de Lisboa since the lifting of Covid curbs, with Chinese dragon dancers deployed to take part a street parade in the capital of Portugal on Wednesday

Festas de Lisboa, a time-honoured cultural celebration in Portugal, has been around for over 90 years.

The month-long festivities usually attract thousands of revellers each year, with the street parade being a major highlight that takes place on 12 June customarily.

Festas de Lisboa, also known as Festas de Santo António, pays homage to Lisbon’s patron saint, Saint Anthony, or Santo António.
