According to the recognition agreement, signed on February 15, the two sides of the border accept “valid driving licenses issued by the other party, and one party allows driving license holders of the other party to directly drive or renew their licenses of driving without an exam”, notes the statement.
With this new agreement, Macau residents with Portuguese nationality will also be able to drive in mainland China.
More than 2,200 people living in Macau were born in Portugal, according to the final results of the 2021 Census.
