Russia today declared its full support for China’s military maneuvers around Taiwan, which concluded on Monday, saying that Beijing was the victim of many “provocation” actions.
“In a very short period of time, we have witnessed many provocative actions against the People’s Republic of China,” declared Kremlin (Russian Presidency) spokesman Dmitry Peskov at his usual daily telephone press conference.
“And, of course, China has the sovereign right to respond to these provocative actions in various ways, including military exercises in strict accordance with international law,” underlined the Russian spokesperson.
Peskov added that “everyone should respect the right of China, as well as other countries, to act in this way.”
