Nagelsmann’s departure from Bayern continues to draw a lot of ink. In a press conference, Kimmich and Goretzka, heavyweights from the Munich emblem, reacted to the events, stating that Nagelsmann did not “lose the locker room” and that the team is in “all competitions”. An analysis that goes against the view of the Bavarian leaders.
“I would be lying if I said that what happened in the last few days didn’t affect me. It was extremely difficult. We had a very close relationship with Julian Nagelsmann. I saw him more than my own family. It was a shock. Personally, I didn’t have any problems with Julian, but I don’t know how it was with the other players,” Goretzka told German broadcaster ZDF.
Asked if Nagelsmann missed the locker room, captain Kimmich denied: “I wouldn’t say that. He left, because we didn’t win enough and we weren’t very successful. We only won five games out of the last ten. We didn’t have good performances, but I can’t say he lost the locker room. We are surprised.” And about Tuchel he was brief: “I don’t know him yet.”
