The cloud computing glitch on Hong Kong’s Alibaba server that caused several Government websites and commercial mobile apps to be inaccessible between noon and midnight on Sunday has now been resolved.
Among the affected services are the monetary authority’s website, Macau Lotus Cable Television’s website, and Galaxy Resorts’ website. And also the mobile applications of the newspaper Ou Mun, and the popular online food delivery service Mfood.
The breakdown in services was caused by a fault in the ventilation of the servers – which overheated – Alibaba said in a statement in which it also apologised for the event.
