Filipe de Souza is the first Macau driver to win the Guia Race

After several years trying to win in Macau, Filipe de Souza (Audi RS3 LMS TCR) won the Guia Race, a race that was interrupted due to the serious accident with Lo Sze Ho (Hyundai i30 N TCR).

In the end, Souza was overjoyed with a victory that took 20 years to achieve and which was the first Guia Race victory for a Macau driver in 50 years.

“I feel it’s a historic moment because it’s the first time that a Macau driver has won the Guia Race!”, stated Souza, at the end of a race with many accidents and two Safety Car entries. “Today was a lucky day,” he added.

After winning the race on Saturday, for which he got off to a bad start, Souza stayed ahead on Sunday. However, he was always closely followed by Hong Kong riders Lo Sze Ho and Andy Yan (Honda FK7 TCR).

The situation seemed under control for Souza, until an accident between more backward opponents, led to the entry of the safety car, which brought the participants back together. At the restart, Souza remained calm and managed to hold on to the first position and open up a new advantage.
