João Félix was a starter at Estádio do Dragão, in Atlético de Madrid’s 2-1 defeat against FC Porto, and the consequent elimination of the Spanish club from European competitions, as Bayer Leverkusen drew 0-0 against Club Brugge.
The Portuguese international was whistled a lot whenever he touched the ball, having ended up being replaced by Matheus Cunha, in the 60th minute of the match, leaving directly for the bench, without going to the center of the pitch.
At the end of the match, Félix was the only Atlético player to remain on the substitutes’ bench, not thanking the “colchoneros” fans who were at Dragão.
Diego Simeone, Atlético’s coach, was asked about the situation of the former Benfica player, and assured that there was nothing left “that is not football”.
