Givenchy showcases sophistication with a touch of informality in Paris

The American designer of the French house Givenchy, Matthew Williams, presented this Sunday at Paris Fashion Week a sophisticated women’s collection with a touch of informality “streetwear”

The Hadid sisters were the stars of the parade presented in the Parisian Garden of Plants despite the rain. Bella wore jeans with a revealing top and Gigi a skirt and jacket set.

Williams added elements such as rates, chains and tall clogs, dubbed Marshmallow, to the traditional garment, with a technology that is often used in high-impact sports shoes.

Bella Hadid wore lace-up boots, while Gigi wore high heels.

“Total looks” were also presented, with the color khaki from head to toe, in addition to bomber jackets and satin pants, accompanied by heels.

Bermuda shorts and cargo pants were paired with romantic blouses, with sheer ruffles or tweed blazers.

The long dress reigned in the spring-summer collection with simple cuts, fitted to the body, in silver tones or embroidered with pearls.

Sky blue dresses displayed a slight transparency, while red ones showed the back, sometimes contoured by large bows.

The collection also brought back memories of the golden age of the house, when its founder Hubert de Givenchy dressed American actress Audrey Hepburn with long gloves.
