The revision of the law regarding the defense of state security will not result in increased prison sentences, assured Wong Sio Chak, Secretary for Security, at the public consultation session held on Saturday and attended by more than 200 people, and yesterday in a statement.

The office of the Secretary for Security stressed yesterday that in relation to the “new crimes that are intended to be added, the penal framework of most of them is less than a prison sentence of 10 years.”
In fact, the governor contextualizes recalling that “more serious crimes against state security, which are currently provided for” in the law, have penal frames between 10 and 25 years.
