Angola’s Head of State inaugurates two photovoltaic energy plants

Two solar parks of photovoltaic energy production with capacity to generate 285 megawatts start operating today in the municipalities of Catumbela (Biópo) and Baía Farta, in the province of Benguela, after being inaugurated by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço.

The first of the two solar parks in Benguela, located in Biópo, was inaugurated a few moments ago by the President of the Republic.

At the occasion, the Minister of Energy and Water, João Baptista Borges, recalled that the substitution of thermal energy by solar energy represents a saving of 275 million liters of diesel fuel per year.
