CTM actively responded to the impetus from CTT, and announced the launch of price reduction and speed enhancement to take effect on 1st February. The new pricing scheme will cover customers of residential, ordinary business Internet service and Direct Internet Access (DIA). The average reduction of residential fibre broadband service is 22%, 48% for general business fibre broadband service, and 20% for DIA service, the new pricing also covers student broadband and the average reduction is 26%.
The new pricing for fixed telephony will take effect from 1st April, 20% off will be applied for general business category, whereas, up to 54% discount will be offered for Social Housing residential fixed telephony service. The new pricing will be effective automatically without the need to apply.
As a locally rooted telecom operator serving Macau for over 4 decades, CTM has always been seeking for rooms for speed enhancement and price reduction. With the impetus from CTT, CTM has responded actively to launch the new pricing. The new pricing covers residential broadband, ordinary business broadband, DIA and fixed telephony services. With effect from 1st February, up to 14-24% price reduction will be applied to residential broadband service with speed enhancement by up to 2 folds at 150Mbps the lowest. Ordinary business broadband users are entitled for price reduction from 23 to 70%, the lowest speed service plan will be automatically uplifted by 5 times to 150Mbps. In terms of DIA service, customers using service plan higher than 2Mbps are entitled to enjoy 20%off. The new pricing also covers student broadband service, reduction rate ranges from 21 to 35%, and the lowest speed will be uplifted to 150Mbps.
With effect from 1st April, 20% and 54% off will be applied to the fixed telephony service for ordinary business customers and Social Housing residential fixed telephony service respectively. The new pricing will be effective automatically and application is not needed.
The global pandemic has brought certain influence to Macau’s economy development, CTM has been actively adopting its network resources to combat the epidemic, including the launch of special caring scheme for SMEs, provided waiver of Internet and fixed telephony service charges for residents in Red Code Zone, as well as provided 30GB free mobile data service and 4G mobile prepaid cards for cross-border students during their stay in Macau.
