Billionaire theft mentor has been hiding in Macau since 2018

The alleged mentor of a multimillion-dollar diversion, which led to the sentencing of the former Malaysian Prime Minister, has been hiding in Macau since 2018 on the property of a member of the Chinese Communist Party, according to an investigation published today by Al Jazeera.

According to Al Jazeera, who does not identify the sources, but says they are from Malaysia and Macau, “the fugitive has lived in the Asian gambling capital since at least February 2018, in a house owned by a senior member of the Chinese Communist Party ”.

The Malaysian has been on the run for almost five years and is wanted by the United States, Malaysia and Singapore. Asked by the Lusa agency about whether Jho Low was hiding in Macau, the United States Department of Justice responded succinctly: “We refuse to comment.”

Malaysian authorities have frequently denounced that the alleged mentor of a multimillion dollar diversion is hidden in Macau and criticized the lack of cooperation from the Government of the former territory administered by Portugal, which continues to deny the presence of Low Taek Jho, also known as Jho Low, in the territory.
