Covid-19: UNICEF to acquire more than 1 billion syringes for future vaccines

UNICEF wants to acquire more than 1 billion syringes by the end of 2021 to enable the launch of mass immunization campaigns as soon as vaccines against Covid-19 are available

“Vaccinating the world against Covid-19 disease will soon be one of the most gigantic tasks in the history of mankind, and we will have to move forward as soon as possible as soon as vaccines can be produced,” said the executive director of the United Nations Fund. United for Children (UNICEF), Henrietta Fore, cited in a statement.

“In order to move faster, in the future, we need to move quickly now”, stressed the representative, specifying that, until the end of 2020, UNICEF intends to acquire and store 520 million syringes in areas that will enable a faster and more economic mobilization.
