Unemployment is seen by company executives around the world as the biggest concern for the next ten years.
According to a survey conducted by the World Economic Forum, unemployment is high on the list of concerns of business leaders worldwide, closely followed by the spread of infectious diseases.
Unemployment rates have skyrocketed because of confinements and other restrictions to fight the new coronavirus pandemic, and there are fears that the worst is yet to come in countries where workers have been laid off.
“The job interruptions caused by the pandemic, the growing trend towards automation and the transition to greener economies are fundamentally altering markets,” said Saadia Zahidi, director of the World Economic Forum.
