In the most miserable country in the Americas, marked by endemic violence and the destruction caused by natural tragedies, religious from the Catholic Church take advantage of the vulnerability of local children to commit all kinds of abuse.
Unlike pedophilia cases around the world, which have gained prominence in recent years, many of the crimes committed in Haiti by priests and nuncios have remained in the shadows, covered up by ecclesiastical authorities and also by local political leaders.
