Lukashenko says “not dead” delivers to Belarus

The newly elected President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, said this Sunday in Minsk that “not even dead” will allow the country to be surrendered in the first demonstration of support after the elections

Belarusian President Alexandr Lukashenko, who is facing the biggest challenge since he took power in 1994, asked his supporters to defend the country’s independence.

The country’s capital, Minsk, is hosting demonstrations with thousands of people. Some support Lukashenko, others show opposition to the regime.

“We managed to build a beautiful country, with its difficulties and failures. Who do you want to give it to? If anyone wants to hand it over, I won’t allow it, even dead, ”said Lukashenko, quoted by Belarusian agency Belta, from a gallery installed in Independence Square.
