Based on reports of rapes and psychological terror provided by a group of 14 women, the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Bahia has instituted a procedure to investigate a spiritual leader operating in the state.

Former Grand Master of a Masonic lodge, Jair Tércio de Souza, 63, responsible for conducting spiritual retreats, is accused of using a self-proclaimed religious superiority to commit crimes. He, according to the reports, also allegedly sexually abused teenagers.
