The Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court today considered it proved that the defendants Valter Filipe, José Filomeno “Zenu” dos Santos, Jorge Gaudens Pontes Sebastião and António Samalia Bule Manuel “duly agreed and worked out a complex and ingenious plan to, by means of mechanisms and false promises ”to harm the state by 500 million dollars.
The Supreme Court’s statement was made during the reading of the items, the last stage of the process that investigates responsibilities in the “BNA Case” about the alleged irregular transfer of US $ 500 million from the National Bank of Angola (BNA) to the account of a foreign company In London.
In today’s session the court presented the questions of accusation and pronunciation, personal issues and representatives of the defendants’ defense, issues that resulted from the discussion and trial hearing.
