China on Thursday criticized Australia’s decision to offer refuge to thousands of Hong Kong citizens. In addition, the suspension of an extradition agreement with the territory was also criticized, measures they called “interference” in their affairs.
“China regrets and strongly opposes the unfounded charges and measures announced by the Australian government regarding Hong Kong.” This statement comes in a statement by a spokesman for the Chinese embassy in Canberra.
