The economic crisis generated by the COVID-19 pandemic will “profoundly change” the world economy towards ecology, digitalization and automation. However, and according to ECB President Christine Lagarde, Europe is in an “excellent position” to embark on this new path.
This crisis “will accelerate the transformation that was already latent in our economies”, estimated the president of the European Central Bank.
“What we have just experienced – in factories, work, commerce – will accelerate transformations and probably cause an evolution towards a more sustainable and ecological way of life”, he considered.
