“Portugal is our father”. “Portugal saved the people of Timor-Leste and must do the same for Cabinda,” says Afonso Zao, Lieutenant-General of FLEC-FAC, speaking to PLATAFORMA.
“Our country has been under invasion for many years and the situation is not improving,” says this fighter from the Liberation Forces of the Enclave of Cabinda, stressing that Portugal has a particular responsibility in the whole process.
Always speaking on behalf of the suffering of his people, Afonso Zao asks that “Portugal explain to the world and the international community what Cabinda is and what has been going on there for dozens of years” Lieutenant-General stresses that Cabinda “does not even border with Angola ”, pointing this as another reason for the struggle for the independence of the territory.
