US inspects Chinese media

The Trump administration said today that Washington would consider four Chinese media outlets in the United States as “external missions,” an action that could force some journalists to leave the country and worsen bilateral diplomatic relations.

US State Department sources, quoted by the Associated Press (AP), said the four media were “essentially megaphones” of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and should not be treated as foreign ” media ordinary shares.”

According to the sources, the four institutions, including the Chinese state television chain CCTV, will be asked to provide a list with the names of all those who work for the Chinese media in the United States, as well as the buildings they bought.
