World Health Organization (WHO) welcomes the “scientific breakthrough” represented by the announcement by British researchers about a drug, dexamethasone, from the family of steroids, which significantly reduces mortality among critically ill patients in Covid-19, according to a study preliminary now published.
“For patients with ventilators, treatment was shown to reduce mortality by about 1/3, and for patients who required only oxygen, mortality was reduced by about 1/5, according to preliminary findings shared with WHO ”, says the organization on Facebook.
