There are two thousand more military personnel in reserve and ready to be activated.
Some 5,000 National Guard personnel, reserve military personnel, have been deployed in 15 states in the United States and the District of Columbia to deal with protests against police violence, the force said today.
In a statement, the National Guard added that there are still more than 2,000 troops ready to be activated, saying that “the situation is fluid, so the numbers can change quickly”.
