Oil producers agree to cut nearly 10 million barrels a day

The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and other producers today reached an agreement to raise prices by cutting production by 9.7 million barrels per day, sources linked to the negotiations announced.

The cut represents a tenth of global supply, according to industry officials from several countries that participated in the negotiations, which is an unprecedented agreement.
