At 29 years old, Zverev has finally broken his Grand Slam maiden status after falling short in his three previously contested major finals. With this triumph, he succeeds Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz as the Roland Garros champion, after Alcaraz won the two previous editions but was forced to miss this year’s tournament due to injury.
