Cole Tomas Allen, the 31-year-old California teacher charged with attempting to assassinate President Donald Trump at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, left behind an extensive digital footprint that traced his descent from an online gaming enthusiast to a politically radicalized individual.

Federal investigators are now meticulously examining this history, which includes a series of social media posts that reveal deep-seated animosity toward the president and his administration.

According to a report by CNN, digital evidence gathered from multiple electronic devices and saved archival data highlights a clear ideological shift, with Allen allegedly using his accounts to compare the president to historical dictators and encourage the acquisition of firearms.

The social media accounts linked to Allen, specifically under the handles “CForce3000” on X and an account on Bluesky, moved from innocuous discussions about video games in 2022 to increasingly aggressive political rhetoric by 2025. Archival data shows him repeatedly sharing content that described the president as a “traitor” to the United States.

Allen frequently shared posts comparing President Donald Trump to Adolf Hitler, while actively encouraging fellow critics of the administration to purchase firearms.

As his online activity intensified throughout 2024, Allen’s rhetoric became increasingly radical, with posts advocating for the nullification of election results. Furthermore, in the aftermath of the previous assassination attempt against the President in Butler, Pennsylvania, Allen amplified baseless conspiracy theories, resharing content that speculated the attack had been staged.

His online activity grew more intense during the start of the president’s second term, with posts lamenting that powerful figures were not taking action against the administration and suggesting that the country’s destruction was an expected outcome of the current political leadership.

This digital trail appears to mirror the private messages Allen allegedly sent to family members prior to the shooting, where he outlined a plan to target administration officials and expressed severe anger at their policies. While he remains largely silent in legal proceedings—invoking his right not to speak after his arrest—the evidence suggests a premeditated mindset.

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche confirmed that the Department of Justice is actively investigating whether Allen maintained any connections to extremist groups, though they have yet to determine the specifics of how many shots were fired or verify the exact trajectory of the projectiles that struck a Secret Service agent’s vest.

The revelation of these radical views has stunned those who knew Allen in his professional life as a part-time tutor in the Los Angeles suburb of Torrance. Associates described him as an intelligent individual who was recently engaged in volunteer work, creating a jarring contrast with the violent actions described in his charging documents.

As he faces charges including attempted assassination, illegal weapons possession, and assault of a federal officer, Allen is scheduled to appear in court Thursday for a detention hearing. Authorities continue to wait on forensic ballistics results to fully reconstruct the chaotic events of the evening.
