Inflation in Portugal accelerated to 2.7% in March, according to the preliminary estimate released by the Instituto Nacional de Estatística (INE).

The year-on-year variation of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for March is 0.6 percentage points higher than in February.

The index for energy products saw a sharp increase to 5.8%, reversing a 2.2% decline recorded in February.
